The Oberheim OB•12 is a Virtual Analog synthesizer, designed and realised by the Italian musical instrument manufacturer Viscount, in production between 2000 and 2005. The synth used Oberheim brand name under license from Gibson, which bought Oberheim rights after the original company went out of business in 1987.

Extra hands-on goodies include a ribbon controller, pitch bend and modulation wheel. The OB-12 is a subtractive synth equipped with load of extra functionalities. It features two oscillators with independent mixable waveforms and two multimode resonant filters with an unique “Delta” parameter (very similar to the OSCar “separation” knob) that can generate vocal-like timbres. The OB-12 is a keyboard synth with a four-octave, velocity and aftertouch sensitive keyboard, packaged in a case with a metallic blue panel having white graphics. Standard pitch and mod wheels are provided, as well as a short ribbon controller.

We spend a lot of time for researching of how to make it sounds more analog in terms of overall tone and then made our first 30 presets. Just got the OB-12 synth for $750 brand new from Guitar Center a few days ago one of the last 3 left across the country I hustled my butt off to get them to ship my synth from across the country to a GC in CA where I live I had checked all the Guitar centers and none had any in calif I saw the Musician friend AD a few months ago for $599 and after reading the Keyboard Mag review a few years Dear Synth Lovers!
The OB-12 stock patches are just bad, they sound bad and no care to program them was used. So with this , most of the stock patches have digital clipping and that just ruines the patches. I have taken to task, to redo all 256 timbers, I have started to edit them and lower the waveform output stage and the Amp stage, some patchs have needed the filters adjusted.
